Professional Betting - The Search for Value

Every punter is looking for the secret of winning lots of money. Well the big secret, the Holy Grail of betting is "Value".

But what exactly is Value when it comes to betting?

Value is getting odds that are higher than the competitors true chance of winning.

So why is this so important?

If you can get Value in the odds when you place your bet then, over time, you will win more than you lose.

For example, assume you have one hundred events and in those events the true odds of the favorite is even money (2.00). Then those favorites should win 50% of those events. However, you would not win any money. Half the time you would win and the other half you would lose. At odds of even money (2.00) You would win the same amount as you lost, in effect you would break even.

Let's take the same scenario, but this time we manage to get odds of say 2.20 instead of even money (2.00). If the competitors true chance of winning stays the same at 50% then this time when we win we win 1.2 (2.20 - 1.00) times our stake but when we lose, we still only lose our stake. This would give us a 20% profit over time.

Unfortunately With betting, Value, like beauty is usually in the eye of the beholder. What is a Value bet to one punter is not a Value bet to another. Both punters have different views on the same event. Neither is right and neither is wrong, just different.

So how can we spot true value?

The secret is Betfair. Betfair is one of the most efficient markets in the world. When you get tens of thousands of punters all putting in their penny's worth of thoughts you end up with a very accurate picture of the true odds of a competitor. This is especially true of the shorter priced competitors. The longer priced competitors have a lot less money riding on them so the odds for these are not quite so accurate.

So now that we know the importance of Value betting and we know pretty accurately what a competitors true odds are, how do we manage to get odds which are higher than the true odds to get a Value bet, especially as Betfairs odds are normally 10% higher than the high street bookmakers? Well this is where we need to start thinking outside the box and coming up with creative ways of betting that perhaps you have not thought of before.

The Factors to Consider When Choosing Racing Cars

Buying a used or new vehicle can be exciting, particularly if you are purchasing a sports car. These cars cost anywhere between tens of thousand of dollars and hundreds of thousand of dollars. When choosing one, it is important to understand ways of comparing different models before making the decision to purchase one. The factors to consider when choosing racing cars include:

· Compare the engine's torque and horsepower

Many of the sports cars function at a minimum of 500CC and a torque of at least 300. A car with more than these figures has better acceleration, top speed and handling. A high maximum rating of the horsepower is considered a highly desirable feature by the sports car enthusiasts. Nevertheless, it must be borne in mind that the driver will most likely never require the full power provided by most cars. As a result, many of the consumers opt for an engine with less power in favor of more important amenities.

· Weight of the car

It is equally important to consider the weight of the car, particularly if you are interested in a vehicle that offers high acceleration capacity. They will often weigh a minimum of 3,000 pounds. If you have a car that weighs 3,300 pounds and another that weighs 3,700 pounds, the weight difference of about 400 pounds becomes apparent when the vehicles get on the open road. The 3,300 pound vehicle does not strain as much as the 3,700 vehicle during acceleration. The lighter vehicle will normally have fewer amenities onboard to keep weight down.

· Safety features

Some of the sports cars often cut back on the weight by accommodating smaller and less effective airbags. Many of the cars have light-weight frames that feature less tensile strength when compared with the traditional car frames. Therefore, you may consider the crash test ratings attributed to every car you may be considering to purchase. This way you will determine whether you are comfortable with the ratings before making the purchases,

· Fuel economy

Many of the consumers purchase cars because of their power. However, this power is available at the cost of fuel efficiency. Therefore, a larger, powerful car engines often burns fuel faster when compared with the sedan and other gas-guzzling SUVs. The cars often require less than 20 miles/gallon on the highways. Therefore it is important to understand the full cost of owning one because the racing car will need to be fueled more times than a regular family car.

Gonadotropin Versus Deer Antler Velvet Supplements - A Comparison for the Benefit of Sports Persons

Gonadotropin is a drug which is often prescribed to men and women who could have diseases, which involve the anterior pituitary gland. An infection like this among women is often indicated by loss of menstrual periods and in men with loss of libido. It is also referred to as the human growth hormone and is only available against a prescription from a medical practitioner. This is an injectable drug and cannot be administered by anyone other than a qualified physician. Unfortunately enough information is available about the drug to prove that it can also help sports persons to perform better. This has led to the drug being used illegally.

Deer antler velvet supplements are also similar to the drug spoken about in this discussion. However, there are differences, which must be noted because this is not a drug but is a supplement made from 100% natural ingredients. People involved in sporting activities are known to take deer antler velvet supplements for the same reasons as mentioned above. What is the difference between the two?

Gonadotropin and deer antler velvet supplements are both capable of building up muscle mass and helping sports persons perform better. However, one is a combination of chemicals while the other contains no chemicals whatsoever. Both work in a similar manner but one also causes difficulties, which must be considered.

Today, there is no drug available on the market which can guarantee that no side-effects will be left behind after it has been administered. Gonadotropin is no different in this regard because even though it helps in building muscle mass and improving performance it leaves behind enough side-effects, which can be a cause for concern. Common among the side-effects left behind are pain in the joints, retention of fluids, carpal tunnel syndrome, diabetes and high blood pressure. This is a clear indicator that even though the drug proves helpful in the short-term it is not a safe option for people indulging in sporting activities.

Deer antler velvet supplements are different because they are made from natural ingredients. They do help in building muscle mass, which is important for individuals who may be involved in strenuous activities like sports. However, rather than find any of the side-effects associated with the chemical version of the drug people will find that it has beneficial properties, which will give them a healthier body for long. These supplements are effective in reducing inflammation of the joints and pain apart from keeping people away from problems like diabetes and hypertension. Therefore, this can be considered as a better option for people who could be indulging in sporting activities.

Sport - Daytona 500 Fragarance - The Scent Of Racing Sports News

The Daytona 500, which is commonly referred to as the Super Bowl of NASCAR, is held each year in February. Drawing hundreds of thousands of fans each year, with even more watching at home on television, the Daytona 500 is racing’s most anticipated event. The sports news media agrees with large press attendance and pre-event weekend coverage. It serves as the season opener for the new racing season, but now it serves as so much more. While sports news continuously surrounds the annual Daytona 500, it is now focused on a new men’s fragrance of the same name.

Elizabeth Arden, which is the #2 American perfume creator, will begin offering the “Daytona 500" men’s fragrance beginning in April 2006. In addition to being found at participating retailers, the Daytona 500 fragrance is expected to be readily available online. Elizabeth Arden believes that the scent “embodies the confidence, power and intensity of the men daring enough to race in the ultimate adrenaline rush.” And what a rush it is. The Daytona 500 is arguably the most exciting race of the year and is widely published in sports news publications, as well as sports news programs.

Jeff Gordon, four-time Cup champion and defending Daytona 500 victor, already promotes another product in the Elizabeth Arden fragrance line. Halston, which is also a men’s fragrance, is promoted by Jeff Gordon, who serves as product spokesman. When Gordon signed on as a representative in February 2005, Elizabeth Arden claimed that their sales increased by 30-40% from previous sales. It is this relationship that creates the preexisting association between Elizabeth Arden and NASCAR.

With the release of the Daytona 500" fragrance, sports news will once again be swirling around the sport. But, by April, with the Daytona 500 competition long since past, the new Daytona 500 sports news will come in the form of a men’s fragrance. With this being the first racing-related fragrance, it is only fitting that it would be named after the first regular NASCAR sanctioned event. During it’s earliest days, racing at the beach in Daytona quickly became the base for which the sanctioning body of NASCAR was born.

Sports news is found everywhere from the internet to the television and printed publication. If it happens in NASCAR and the Daytona 500, it is sure to be covered. At the same time, any product that references both is sure to be a sports news magnet.

Sports - Broadway Set For Record Year In 2006

You can experience the crisp and emotional songs of musicals, the beauty of design elements and the excitement of a character coming to life before your eyes. New York City's Theatre District is known for its world-class performances. Broadway is New York's top entertainment draw. This year, the Great White Way continues to showcase the popular favorites from 2005, while several new plays are also slated to open.

Continuing on from 2005 into 2006

At the Majestic Theatre, Phantom of the Opera continues to break attendance and ticket sales records. The show arrived on Broadway on January 26, 1988. On January 9th, 2006, the musical became the longest running play in the history of Broadway with its 7, 486th performance. Phantom won several Tony awards, including best musical, best performance by a lead actor (Michael Crawford as the Phantom) and best performance by a featured actress in a musical (Judy Kaye as the opera diva Carlotta Giudicelli). Additional Tony’s were awarded for lighting, scenic and costume design.

At the St. James Theatre, The Producers opened in 2005 and continues to enjoy sold out performances. The Producers has won more Tony awards than any other show on Broadway. This Mel Brooks musical is about a Broadway producer and an accountant who convince various elderly women to invest in a Broadway show. They over capitalize the show, taking in more money than they can ever payback even if it was to become a hit. They produce a musical that they are sure will never make it past opening night and make plans to take off with the money. Their "best laid plans" go awry. The Producers will run through 2006 and will continue to delight ticket buyers.

The Color Purple opened at the Broadway Theatre on December 1, 2005, and has been sold out every night since. This production has been said to stir the soul. The Color Purple grosses about 2 million dollars a week in current and advanced sales. It is considered to be one of the top 5 revenue producing musicals on the boards. Some predict that in 2006, The Color Purple may top all current musicals in ticket sales.

Other plays that broke records are Beauty and the Beast, Doubt, Jersey Boys and The Lion King. Beauty and the Beast , at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre, set a record in sales of $1,229,825 and is the 6th longest running show of all time. Doubt broke records for the Walter Kerr Theatre. This play has won both Tony and Pulitzer Prizes. Jersey Boys at the August Wilson Theatre continues to be considered Broadway’s freshest and newest musical. The Lion King, another Tony winner, will be moving to the Minskoff Theatre in June 2006. This play’s record sales breaking momentum is sure to continue.

Coming in 2006

Mary Poppins, the extremely popular 1964 Walt Disney film, has made its way to Broadway. Performances will begin in October or November of 2006 at the New Amsterdam Theatre. Mary Poppins has had a tremendous run in London and will no doubt become very popular in New York.

The Wedding Singer will open on April 27, 2006 at the Al Hirshfeld Theatre. This musical is based on a very popular movie, which focuses on a man named Robbie Hart who sings in a band that performs at weddings. His desire to find the girl of his dreams comes at one of his wedding gigs when he meets an enchanting young woman. They become friends but she is engaged to another man. If the Broadway play is as close in popularity as the movie, tickets will be difficult to obtain.

Tarzan, another popular movie, is set to open on Broadway during the month of March. It is the story of a boy raised in the wild by animals; it was first a novel written by Englishman Edgar Rice Burroughs. The popularity of Tarzan in literary or film form.

On March 12, 2006, Ring of Fire, a musical tribute to country legend Johnny Cash, opens at the Ethel Barrymore Theatre. This year Walk the Line, a movie about Cash, won several Golden Globes. If it can hold the boards, this play has the potential to bring innumerable country music fans into the Barrymore.

Broadway’s success in 2005 has rolled over into 2006. As many as 30 new shows are slated to come to Broadway in 2006. Some will be huge hits and many more will close in less than a week. Is the next Phantom of the Opera waiting in the wings? Only time will tell.

Backpacks - Planning Your Camping Trip

When it comes to planning your camping trip, you may feel overwhelmed with how much you will have to do in advance. However, you can do your planning fairly easily by using some simple strategies.

The main things to consider are; what equipment you would like to buy, finding a campground that suits your needs, deciding on what activities you and your fellow travelers would enjoy doing, and staying within a reasonable budget. These should be discussed and completed before you go on the camping trip.

Deciding how to camp is your first decision. You might want to think about the kind of lifestyle you would like on your trip.

For instance, people with families prefer to rent an RV because they can fit six people comfortably and can be moved easily. With kitchen, bathroom, and storage space for luggage, families will be more comfortable and will be able to enjoy their camping vacation without having to deal with bugs, pitching tents, and building fires unless they want to.

But, if you want to experience the great outdoors by pitching a tent, and building a fire, you can do so by purchasing a tent that is large enough for you, your family, and all of your stuff. This is a more direct way of experiencing nature and can open up a whole new experience for you and your family.

There are a variety of tents for you to choose from. Tents that have separate rooms and screened porches are available. These tents are easy to assemble and take care of. Many can be set up with just a few, simply sets, regardless of their size. If you are traveling with your family or friends, everyone can help and make it quicker and more fun for all.

Cabins are another option if you do not want to pitch a tent and you don't want to stay in an RV, you will be able to rent a cabin and have all the comforts of home while enjoying nature. Usually set along lakes or mountains, you will be able to get the peace and quiet you want without having to build a fire outside.

One of the important things to remember,is to be sure that everyone that is going on the camping vacaton, will be involved in some manner in your planning, so your choices can be suitable for all, and help to make your camping trip one of the best ever!

Vacation Florida Orlando Disney Family Fun Sun Beach - Staying In Florida?

Staying in Florida can cost a fortune. When staying there, you can choose to stay in an expensive hotel complete with Jacuzzis and pools or stay in a simple yet clean house and cut your expense in half. A fruitful family vacation in Florida should not be that expensive. It will be good if you can still save while having a worthwhile time.

Renting a house instead of staying in a grand hotel can be affordable for the family and thus save you a lot of money. Renting can be stressful when not planned well. Choosing where to stay should be proper to avoid some added work such as house cleaning. I am presenting here some guidelines before renting a house in Florida. This information will help you and your family in your stay there:

1.You may have friends or acquaintances in Florida. Having contacts can be beneficial for your search of house for rents. Your friends can give you ideas of the rental expenses. They can also endorse you to some of their known friends who own rental houses. You can also ask for price quotes to assess and calculate the costs your family may incur.

2.Your budget is the prime concern here. If you are in a tight budget, consider a simple house which can accommodate all the members of the family and that which will provide the comfort after a whole day of trip. The house don't necessarily mean very big; just spacious enough for the whole family.

The prices of rents will also vary during the lean months of January to March or the peak month of December. You may want to go during lean months when tourists' arrival is not that heavy. Rental fees vary from $763 to $1,149. Try to negotiate to lower the rental fees.

3.Choosing an apartment should be strategic to those places you plan to visit. You do not want to waste half of the day just to travel towards the beach you sought for. Whether you plan to tour the Florida, an accessible house can be an energy booster in a day's exploration.

You may also consider living in a lovely community where you can have a glimpse of Florida's beach while enjoying a sip of coffee and delicious breakfast.

4.Before renting a house, examine it and see to it that the house is clean. Keep in mind that a dirty house will not be clean by the landlord unless it is agreed upon. Messy rooms can stressed you out when all you seek for is relaxation and peace of mind.

Be sure that the house offers all amenities such as washer, dryer, a full kitchen or if possible, a television and DVD set. Examine if water is continuously available and faucets do not leak. You should be out of worries when renting, since you are paying, you should get a good deal here.

5.Your family's safety and health are also at hand in choosing a house. If any of the members have allergies to dust mites or animal furs, you should choose a community where there are minimal or no pets roaming around.

6.There are shortages of rental houses in Central Florida and other areas, so might as well make reservations as early as possible. Search for certain homes in an area by accessing available sites. Rentclicks and Rentalo.com are examples of websites which cater to those who want to rent and place reservations earlier. Rentclicks have a tracking map as location finder so you will have a good look of the place you want to stay in.

7.There are beautiful villa houses with affordable prices. You can try these houses and enjoy the exclusivity of the place. The villa owners offer a country style of living for those groups seeking for private moments with their family.

There are beautiful Florida houses available for rent and you can't even distinguished the differences of staying in other apartments or condominiums. The key in choosing a good house is examination and proper negotiation. Instead of just staying on the first house you will visit, you should search for many houses and compare. The vast selection can bring you endless features; just be sure that all your needs can be met.

Skydiving - The Safety And The Risks In Skydiving

Skydiving is a sport that involves many risks. Safety and risks are different thing. While the risks are measured, the safety is judged. The safety can be defined as a personal or social acceptance of a given risk.

In what regards the risks, they are measured as quantities. The probability of something to happen combined with the severity of the repercussions give the risks. The probabilities and the severity are divided into categories. The probabilities have five such categories: Frequent, Probable, Occasional, Remote and Improbable and the severity of the action has four categories: Catastrophic, Critical, Marginal and Negligible. For instance, a rubber band breaking the risk is “frequent – negligible” while for a double malfunction the risk would be “remote – catastrophic”. “Occasional – catastrophic” or “occasional – critical” are the risks encountered most often for malfunctions.

In skydiving, a risk value can be assigned to any event, based on the given definition. Observation over the years and the measurements from the test drops should be the base for the value of a risk. Yet, this doesn't always happen.

The perception of risk

The perception of risk is sometime done on a subjective base. The values of risks are higher in case of voluntary events within control of the beholder than in the case of mandatory events that put a person beyond control. Thus, skydiving presents a greater risk than breathing air.

The events followed by dreaded results or catastrophic consequences present a higher risk. The sports and occupations also have different values of risk depending on the amount of fatalities encountered.

The perceptions of risks can also be affected by the maturation of technology. Taking the example of the power plants, a coal power plant is less risky than a nuclear power plant because people know much more things about burning coal than about nuclear technology.

The risks are also directly connected to the complexity of the system. The difficulty to understand a system is given by its complexity and together with this difficulty; the necessity increases because only by a better acknowledgement of the system, the corrections and the ways of preventing events are obtained.

The assessment of risks

Understanding a system fully and without gaps will decrease the risks of unfortunate events. A system must have no secrets for the person that operates it because if there are things that are not understood, complications may appear if an event is generated by that unknown element. Also, in a system, not only its components should be well known, but the reasons of failure too. This is obtained through observation and continuous monitoring of the system’s performance. Risks can be reduced by prevention of failure or corrective plans. The causes for system failure can be human, mechanical or environmental.

The risks involved by skydiving

Values of risks can be given to any event in skydiving. The gear and technique knowledge in skydiving is the primary base of the risk value assessment. If a person knows the equipment, the parachute, the characteristics, the techniques and all the other factors involved by skydiving, he or she greatly reduces the risks of an event. If the equipment is very well known, the system performance monitoring is accurate and malfunctions can be discovered in time if they appear, decreasing thus the risks. Different ways to escape injuries also reduce the risks, therefore emergency procedures and alternative plans have been elaborated.

Understanding the gear, the parachute, its characteristics, acknowledging and using the controls properly and having preventing and correcting plans will reduce the risks and increase the effectiveness or risks assessment.

Shopping Online - Online Shopping For Christmas Without Hassle And Stress

Christmas shopping can be fun, at the same time; it can be very daunting and hectic as well. The mere mention of Christmas shopping would remind us of anything ranging from traffic jam to messy sales racks and long lines at the payment counters. These scenes undoubtedly contribute to a merrier Christmas atmosphere and have been part and parcel of the celebration taking place. Whilst this is true for many people enjoying every moment of the crowds, there is another group of the population who hate to fight the throng of holiday crowds and find these chaos too stressful and frantic and would rather take on other better alternatives to complete their shopping. The recent growth in internet shopping and boom of online e-stores and e-malls have made it possible for convenient and stress-free shopping from anywhere and at any time. The following article will provide some tips regarding online shopping.

One of the most useful tips for Christmas shopping online is to do your Christmas shopping early but not too early. It is important to complete your online Christmas early enough to have the item shipped to the recipient in time to arrive before Christmas without incurring charges for rushed shipping. This is important because you want your friend or family member to receive the gift on time but you dont wan to pay a great deal of extra money for shipping. Standard shipping rates are typically quite reasonable but express shipping rates can be rather expensive. While it is important to complete your online Christmas shopping early enough to get the gift to your friend or family member before Christmas, you do not want the gift to arrive early. While there is technically nothing wrong with this, it may be result in the gift being opened early or the recipient putting the gift in safe spot until Christmas and then forgetting it was ever received.

If you have been a frequent online shoppers of products and goods, you may or may not encounter circumstance where the goods that you purchase, in reality, may look differently than the online advertisement. Therefore, it is important to ensure that you are aware of what the item actually looks like before making the purchases. There are several steps that you can take to achieve this: you may compare a particular model of product that you have seen in stores by its model. If the goods represent something that cannot be found in the local stores or something unique and distinctive that is hard to come across, you may exercise due caution of carefully studying the product picture and information such as measurement, details, country of origin and so forth so that you have an understanding of the size, nature and quality of the product. By taking due care in obtaining the product information, you will be more likely to purchase goods and items that will appeal to you, your family members, friends and relatives.

It is also important to consider the reputation of the website retailers or suppliers when performing online purchases. No matter how incredible the sales hype or bargain available or advertised by the retailers, the dangers of shopping with a badly reputable or notorious e-commerce retailers and suppliers would be risking a lower quality product or falling into a deliberate scam scheme. There might be a slightly higher price to pay when shopping with the reputable retailers and suppliers, you can be certain that they are more reliable and generally provide the reasonable level of customer service. The elements of websites that can promote reputation of the retailers and suppliers that you can look out for are their privacy statement, customer service policy, refund or satisfaction policy and other forms of authentication and certification.
